eBooks
Have you written something that you would like published? An eBook is the perfect solution because it’s cost effective, secure and easy to sell & distribute.
what is an eBook?
An eBook is an electronic version of a book. The subject material varies widely. There are currently millions of eBooks in circulation on the internet – anything from cookery books to car manuals, to novels and more. eBooks are easy to sell through your own and a range of other websites. They are now increasingly popular on iPad’s, eBook readers (such as Kindle) and other platforms.
how do eBooks work?
In a nutshell;
1) You write the content (we can help if you need editorial guidance);
2) We package it into a suitable distribution format;
3) You set the price – or you can decide to distribute it freely via email (called viral marketing);
4) We upload the completed eBook to your website;
5) We submit it to popular eBook selling services (such as Amazon)
6) We will promote it for you.
7) Watch the sales increasing…
Delivery is usually automated, so once it’s all set up, you can focus on other tasks, like promotion. Your customer downloads the ebook to their computer, registers their copy, and then they can read it, or if you choose to allow it, they can print it out.
about security
It’s the best way to publish material because you can employ a range of security measures to protect your information from being illegally copied. The eBook software that Purple Dog uses contains various DRM (Digital Rights Management) techniques to prevent loss. You decide what level of security you want!
what subjects are appropriate for an eBook?
eBook subjects vary widely. Whether you are publishing a story (or a collection of stories), an instructional booklet or ‘how to’ manual, (e.g. “How To Increase Sales” or “How To Save The World in 3 Easy Steps”), a cookery book (have a look at the recent eBook we made for Gunter Eberwein and his Vegan Cakes recipes), or anything else!
how long does it take?
This depends on the material you have written and how “complete” it is. We will need a hard copy of your material (printed) or you can send us a USB key or CD/DVD with the data unencrypted. Usually, we would anticipate 3 -6 weeks depending on how many pages your eBook will contain.
