What is SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)?

SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is a specific area of e-Marketing that has increased in popularity because it involves improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” or un-paid (organic) search results.

Typically, the higher your site appears in the search engine’s results pages (SERPS), the more visitor traffic you are likely to receive.  Consequently, the more likely you are to achieve your goals which can usually be measured by analysing any increases in ‘conversion rates’, whatever the ‘conversion’ may be, for example; a sale, the visitor fills in a form, contacts you, or other desired action response.
