Opt out of Purple Dog emails

We send emails to our customers for specific reasons - whether alerts, notifications, invoices or news - and we do try our best not to bother you.  As a Purple Dog customer, you may wish to "opt-out" of certain emails and we will respect that as much as possible, see below:

Email Marketing / Newsletter

We occasionally send email newsletters to update customers on events, news, and worthy items of interest.  You can opt-out of receiving the Purple Dog email marketing emails using the "unsubscribe" link found in the footer of any email newsletter sent to you.

Client Reports

We typically send Client Report emails monthly. If you do not wish to receive these, please let us know by replying to one of them and we will turn them off for your account.  This will mean that client reports won't be available for your account.

Service / Outage Notifications

When we need to communicate to you about maintenance or a possible service interruption, we sill send Service Notification Emails. If you do not wish to receive these notifications about possible service outages, you can opt-out of these from within your client account. Please login to change your options.

Invoice Emails, Payment Due, or Overdue

Due to accounting best proactive and tax law, we are required to send the following emails:

  • Invoice created
  • Credit Card invoice created
  • Direct Debit invoice created
  • Payment Overdue emails

Payment Reminder and Payment Confirmation Emails

For your convenience, we send payment reminder emails to help you avoid service interruption, should you forget to make a payment.

We also send payment confirmation emails that let you know when an invoice has been paid in full, partially paid, cancelled, refunded or modified.

Due to policy, we are not able to disable these emails, however, there's a workaround if you do not wish to receive them, you can add a rule in your email software that will allow you to filter them / redirect them out of your inbox.  Please note that while we are providing general guidance information here, you are responsible for these actions - if you miss an important email, that will be on you!

How to set up an email filter rule based on Subject

Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open your inbox in Outlook.
  2. Right-click on a message that you would like to set a rule for.
  3. Click on 'Rules' and then 'Create Rule'.
  4. We strongly urge you not filter all by sender as this could mean you miss payment / invoice emails.
  5. Instead, create a rule based on subject: select the 'Subject contains' field.
  6. Type in the words you wish to target e.g. "Payment Confirmation".
  7. Under Do the following, click on 'Move the item to folder'.
  8. Choose to move the message to another folder. As an example, you could create a folder called "payment receipts" where you wish to store all such messages.
  9. When done click on Ok.
  10. You have the option to run the rule now so it applies to messages that are already in your inbox.

Google / Gmail

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Check the checkbox next to the email you want.
  3. Click More.
  4. Click Filter messages like these.
  5. Enter your filter criteria.
  6. Click Create filter.
